Red Tape Riot, previously a.k.a Overgraze have their roots deeply set in the late ‘90’s when Marcus 'Nobz' Hounsell and John Battersby kicked out some merry tunes for their high school mates. Over the years, their sound developed. After Jessamine joined on bass the band's style morphed into an ecectic sound of what they then called 'psychedelic folk punk'. Out of this formula came gigging across the Cape Peninsula, where hyped audiences were offered heart-felt melodies with an upbeat crazy dancing vibe. As time passed, the band enjoy some successful gigs, but the reality of growing up set in and Overgraze went into hiatus; members scattered to all corners of the Earth. Nobz and John, joined at the hip since pre-adolescence, took their sabbatical on the Queen’s mudland.
