Gito and Howard Butcher connected when Tananas’ played WOMAD in Redding UK, mid 2001. Howard and Jeni were camping near the Thames and Gito would hangout with them occasionally, whiling away the time he had between workshops and performances which were part of Tananas’ commitment with Steve Newman and Ian Herman. Then in 2004 everyone was confronted with the shock of his utterly pointless murder in South Africa, apparently for the contents of his wallet! *

It transpired that Gito had an extensive file of partly finished recordings of his solo works. These were collaborations with all sorts of musicians but towards the end of his life a fair number of them were with Dave Reynolds who like Gito is a producer.
